MOONRISE FESTIVAL:

Steez Promo has been throwing some of the best Electronic Music Dance Events on the East Coast for years and years.

Of those events, our favorite was the Starscape Festival which took place each Summer in Fort Armistead Park, just outside of Baltimore, MD.

Starscape featured numerous stages, and allowed fans to dance throughout the night until the sun rose over the water the next morning. After 14 years, it finally came to an end in 2013. No more Fort Armistead Park, no more Starscape, no more sunrise sets.

With the final chapter of Starscape already in the books, it was time for the birth of something new…a new event, a new venue, a new time table, a new name, a whole new experience!

This year, the first annual Moonrise Festival will take place at Sun Park in downtown Baltimore, MD.

While Moonrise has replaced Starscape, there is no need to compare the two events. While fans celebrated the rising sun at the end of each Starscape, they will have the chance to celebrate the rising moon, not once, but twice at Moonrise.

Moonrise Festival, an 18+ event, will take place over two full days, on June 8th & 9th, with twelve full hours of music each day from 11am-11pm. In addition, there will be several after-party events taking place at venues all over Baltimore once the festival ends each night. There will also be pre-parties on Friday night, June 7th (details of the pre-parties and after-parties will be coming soon).

The line-up, which will be spread across multiple stages, is serious, with some of the biggest DJs and live-acts in the world of EDM slated to perform (as you can see from the flyer above). Moonrise Festival is no joke. This thing is going to be big.

In addition to the insane line-up, there will be more to Moonrise than just the music. Visual artists, a vendor village, and a massive Ferris Wheel (100 feet tall) will also be on hand for the enjoyment of festival goers. There will be food, drinks, and libations (for those 21+). The location will also allow fans to more easily reach the festival grounds, as parking will be easier, and those staying in and around Baltimore can walk or take public transportation (if you attended Starscape in the past, you know the headaches that the traffic could cause).

We are so excited about Moonrise Festival that we’re getting a little crazy and giving away numerous two-day passes! Our grand prize winner will win 2 two-day passes for them and a guest. Two runners up will each win a single two-day pass.

In addition, an additional two-day pass will be available to one of our PIN IT TO WIN IT winners (see details at top of page), and we will also be giving away a two-day pass via Facebook (so make sure you “like” Independent Philly)!

That’s SIX two-day passes in all that we will be giving away. But remember, you can’t enter if you don’t win.

Only complete entries (name, age, email, and your 50 words) will be considered. Also keep an eye out on our Twitter for an additional entry opportunity!

Winners will be notified on Wednesday, May 29th via email and must confirm by May 31st or a new winner will be selected in their place. All winners can pick up their passes at will-call on the day of the event.

For those who don’t win…

Early bird tickets flew the coop almost immediately but both general admission ($149) and VIP ($225) tickets remain. We highly suggest picking yours up ASAP so you aren’t left out of this can’t miss event.

Independent Philly will be on hand to provide in depth coverage of both days of Moonrise Festival and we hope you’ll join us in Baltimore for the beginning of a great new Summer tradition. Moonrise Festival, you never forget your first.

PHILADELPHIA SOUL:

The Philadelphia Soul are back in 2013 to defend their Eastern Division title with hopes of winning the league Championship! We have partnered with the Soul to giveaway tickets to every home game (separate winner for each game).

For each game we will either give away a 4 pack of tickets to a single winner ($132 value), or two pairs of tickets to two separate winners. Winners will be treated to great lower level tickets in section 112!
